Bjorn Ruwald

 

I'm inspired by the life, love, and beauty around me. That mostly accounts for my family and friends – the people I care about. But it also means my favourite magazines, designers, and rock stars. (Yes, rock star is meant both literally and as a metaphor.) I'm powered by great food, wine, and cocktails. Life is too short for the non-great; luckily, there is an abundance of fantastic moments out there.

I was born and grew up in the southern part of Denmark, close to the ocean, which I yearn for whenever I'm not near it. Today, I live in London, where I take the Central and Jubilee Tubes to my dream job. I recently moved here from Wonderful Copenhagen. I spend as many weeks as I can in New York City, in fact, I have spent a good part of ten percent of my time in it since studying there in 2004. I'm all for #fastlanedinners, so if we happen to be in the same metropolis one day and you want to meet up for a quick dinner or cocktail, let me know.

Besides family and friends, I try to spend as much time as I can on things I like. That recently includes flying a lot (which I'm trying to find out how to do in London) – I'm studying to get a license. But it also means the arts (I'm trying to establish a non-profit gallery with a friend of mine), photography, film-making, music (mostly listening to, but from time to time also playing – tenor saxophone or guitar), graphic design, sailing, and hunting.
